Extraordinary act takes place at Central Florida service plaza
On December 28, 2007, Turnpike customers Jim and his wife Barbara, were traveling southbound on their way to the Florida Keys. Stopping for lunch at the Turkey Lake Service Plaza, something unexpected happened - Jim had a seizure. Immediately the service plaza managers, Edwin and Sandra, assisted the couple. |
After calling 911, the managers remained with the traveling couple for comfort and aid. Edwin and Sandra not only tended to the distressed couple, but also cared for another member of Jim and Barbara's family - their dog, Penny.
Once medical personnel arrived, Edwin and Sandra did not cease their efforts to help. The plaza managers offered to drive the couple's car to the hospital, so Barbara could be with her husband in the ambulance in his time of need.
Jim, Barbara and Penny are now doing well, and were still able to enjoy their trip to the Keys! |
| A special thanks to Edwin and Sandra for going above and beyond the normal call of duty to help a customer in need. |
