More good news for SunPass customers who use 95 Express. In December 2008 the first phase of 95 Express opened in the northbound direction from State Road 112 to Golden Glades. Now the second segment of 95 Express is in its final construction stage and is scheduled to open tolling in January 2010. This second phase, called Phase 1B, will run southbound from Golden Glades to I-395.

The Express lanes are tolled based on a congestion pricing method. This means the toll will vary during the day based on traffic levels. More congestion means a higher toll rate, and likewise, less congestion will result in a lower toll rate.
