PUBLIC HEARING
The Turnpike hosted a public hearing on Thursday, February 18, 2010 to collect comments on the administrative rule changes needed to implement all-electronic open road tolling. The public hearing will have a presentation outlining:
- New Toll-by-Plate electronic toll collection process
- Administrative Charge of $2.50 for electronic toll collection billing
- New Toll-by-Plate toll rates
- Removal of cash toll rates on the Turnpike in Miami-Dade County (2011)
Like the workshop held on November 17 and described below, the Toll Rate and Administrative Rule Hearing was held as a webinar, which is a live presentation over the internet. For those persons without computer or internet access, the hearing webcast was provided at various Florida Department of Transportation locations across the state:

On November 17, 2009, Florida's Turnpike Enterprise hosted a public workshop to present information on administrative rule changes needed to implement all-electronic toll collection. The changes needed include establishing new Toll-by-Plate toll rates on the Turnpike System, outlining the new Toll-by-Plate electronic toll collection process and related administrative charge amount, and deleting the cash toll rates on the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade County when the facility is open for all-electronic toll collection.
The workshop was held as a statewide electronic webinar, a live presentation over the internet which allows interested persons to attend the meeting from their personal computer.
