Project Schedule

The contract for the segment between Atlantic Boulevard and Coral Ridge Drive is scheduled for letting in September; it is anticipated construction will begin in early 2006.

The $81 million design-build contract for the segment between Coral Ridge Drive and the Turnpike was awarded earlier this year to APAC Major Projects Group/Parsons Transportation Group. The contractor plans to pursue an ambitious work schedule with an anticipated completion date in the summer of 2007.

Motorists and area residents may have noticed some pre-construction activities between Coral Ridge Drive and the Turnpike, such as surveying and geotechnical exploration. In coming weeks, the contractor will start to place temporary concrete barrier wall sections in the median, where the new traffic lanes will be constructed.  The temporary walls will be placed along the roadway to separate the work areas from traffic.
